GTalk with Kopete

I installed Mandrive livecd yesterday and it a beloved sight for an old Mandrake user, lately in SuSE and Ubuntu land. The only thing so far that I noticed is the fact that I can't login to Gtalk through Kopete because of missing support for SSL. It saysa something about the "QCA TLS plugin" not being installed.

 

Now, I've searched and installed everything I could think of but still, this is the note. Does someone have any clue about what package I need to install?

Did you tried searching for/installing a package named similar to qca-tls? It's a plugin. According to the Kopete site this is what you need/are missing. Try searching for it via the Software section of the Mandriva Control Center. If you already have it installed, let us know.

The package you need is called libqca1-tls

ok, thanks. I found that package but curl fails to get it with error 22 so I guess I have to do without Gtalk, unless I get Gaim instead.

 

EDIT: Ah, now I noticed that most of the mirrors have hickups. From the ~20 packages I've installed so far, I've had to postpone 50% of them because of this curl error. Are there no way to have backup mirrors? In Debian/Ubuntu i usualyy have a huuuuge sources list of repos? For now, I just switch my "main" source.

I'm pretty sure you can add as many repositories as you want, but I don't know if it will cause conflicts or not. It's best to find one that's reliable and geographically nearby, and stick with that.

 

Also be sure to update your sources regularly, to ensure you are getting the latest packages. You should be able to do this from within the software install, IIRC.
