It seems in a hidden folder in Your home directory, that is /home/{your_username}/.gnome2/session. Have You searched for it there?

Cool, I have found and it and removed it, Compiz now seems to start up

except is not working when i now try to start it from terminal i get Segmentation fault?

thanks

Charli

How did you install Compiz?

You could also try creating another user and trying to use Compiz as that user - this will tell us whether the problem is with Compiz as a whole or just with your specific user account.

I get the follwoing message using kde,

Compiz: Another window manger is already running on screen: 0

Compiz: No managable screens found on display :0.0

I have also tried another user and still have the same problem I now what to get it working with kde instead of gnome but I still get the above problem when running compiz in terminal I have set up the nvidia drivers and they are working compiz was installed with the mandriva 2007 powerpack

thanks

charlie
