Guest Matrixboy
Just like many others that I had found searching just the word "Xpress 200" I have noticed that this video card doesn't seem to be very well with OpenGL. Despite all of the topics relating to the subject, I could not find a solution. I am currently running an onboard ATi Xpress 200 video card, with Mandriva 2007 Free-Edition. I recently got into the ideas of running my Winblows games on Mandriva, since one of my friends was successfully able to. I installed Warcraft (III: The Frozen Throne) successfully, ran it in OpenGL, and suffered the most eye-strenous.... *thing* ever. Does anyone know how I can fix my card to REALLY work with OpenGL, or if not... mention a cheap video card that CAN? Thanks in advance for the help, Sincerely, Matrixboy
SoulSe
I can't help you with your card, but if you're looking for a new one I'd recommend an Nvidia. Their driver is just simply better than ATI's. Visit the Nvidia site and checkout which cards are supported by their Linux driver - then build your shopping list from there. I was using Windows, and my ATi drivers basically imploded. Now, my monitor won't display anything, and less than a week after reinstalling Windows, I need to again. Guess what though? I'm deleting my windows partition instead. And since ATi messed itself up, I'm going to get an NVIDIA as soon as I get a job (I'm only fourteen -_-)
