Michel
Think someone ask this already, but son't see the answer... How do you remove the floppy/cdrom-desktoplink????not with just pressing delete. Supermount doesn't work....asked myself what supermount is good for anyway. The desktopmanagers can mount when it is needed...The rest, mandrakeinstaller did his work very well, even my usb_speedtouch worked out of the box.... paul
if you are using mandrake 9.1 with KDE3.1 then you can do this Controll Center->Look and Feel->Behaviour-> Then untick display devices on desktop
Guest Cyclops
Do any of you know how to keep the desktop links to the CD-burner and DVD-player, but change the names of them to something shorter? The default names are too long and look goofy on the desktop. I've tried the right-click method but Mandrake 9.1 doesn't want to let me change them. I've also tried creating new icons on the desktop pointing to those devices, but then I run into permissions issues. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on a fix... Michel
Will also search for better names, anyway think supermount works(my mistake: have a lot of floppies that don't work...) (althouhg I still think it is better implemented with the graphical environment..), but it takes long, or is this just an impression? willisoften
The names for destop icons suck! Thats something I want to change too. The scanner icon is a bit naff too. I'm pretty sure it can be changed though.
