Apropos Help [solved]

I don"t know whether is the installation problem.

 

 

Question 1:

when i typed,

 

apropos cp

 

the terminal display a error which is

cp: nothing appropriate

 

Question 2:

 

when i typed,

 

info cp

 

 

the terminal display an error which info command not found.

 

 

Please help in this. I quite suffer without this command.

To build the apropos database, use the command

buildwhatis

To get the info command, try

urpmi info

I'm not sure exactly what the package name containing info is but that is worth a try.

When i typed buildwhatis, the terminal complaint that doesn't have such command. I have successful typed the urpmi info command in the terminal.

 

I wonder why i still can't typed the buildwhatis. Any comments, recommendations and solutions are greatly appreciated by me and others.

Oops - it looks like the name of the command has changed since I last used it! :unsure:

 

Try

makewhatis

instead.
