mystified Posted January 30, 2007 Share Posted January 30, 2007 I have no idea aboaut the error but you can always disable arts by going in the kde control center, Sound & Multimedia, Sound System, disable arts. I always disable arts. It's not necessary and can cause problems. Yeah, but I like the system sound responses. Arts has been an issue for as long as I've used linux. tyme Posted February 1, 2007 Share Posted February 1, 2007 Here is a long interview discussing why aRts has so many problems, and their plans for KDE 4. Basically: one person (Stefan Westerfeld) developed and maintained aRts. Eventually (~2002), Stefan lost interest, and no one else knew aRts well enough to pick up the maintenance.
