I installed Mandriva free 2007 on an i86 desktop machine. Several different applications

segfoult after giving these messages:

Gtk-WARNING **: Theme file for default has no name

Gtk-WARNING **: Theme file for default has no directories.

Examples that suffer this are pan and vlc. As I recall, mozilla-thuderbird and mozilla-firefox

once suffered the same fate, but today I couldn't reproduce this.

In the case of pan, these messages and the segfault come out immediately when starting

from the command line with command "pan".

In the case of vlc, I get two copies of this message immediately upon startup

from the command line:

main interface error: option dvdnav-caching does not exist

The Gtk warmings and seqfault don't come out until I choose File>Open File>Browse

I did a not of individual package selectiion during the install and then added

several packages using urpmi. At lease for vlc, I installed using urpmi, which

asked for installation CD #1.
