Guest cid
Where do I set those settings? I want my http links in evolution to pop up in Opera, not galaeon or Konq. Thanks D
pmpatrick
Go to : KDE Control Center>File Browsing>File Associations>text>html If Opera is not listed in the right window for Application Preference Order you can add it with the Add button and move it up to the first position and click apply to set the preference. Guest LinuxExplorer
Did it change in KDE 3.1? Its under KDE Control Center - > Components -> File Associations -> text -> html when I go to it.
pmpatrick
I don't have kde 3.1 so I can't say but it sounds like the same deal. Give it a try and see how it works. If it doesn't work out, it's pretty easy to change back. Good luck.
Guest cid
It moved in KDE3.1, but I still found it... Didn't seem to work. Galeon is eating all the links from Evolution. I'll have to double check my evolution settings too.. (not on that comp right now). D
drsatch
This annoyed me too. 1. open file /home/user/.gnome/Gnome 2. change: default-show=gnome-moz-remote --newwin "%s" to default-show=opera -newpage "%s" 3. restart evolution and enjoy
bvc
Yes, evo is gnome so needs gnome to tell it which browser. If that doesn't work, there's a couple of other places to try in gconf-editor, so let us know.
aRTee
Thanks for the tips guys, I had the same problem (well, I just copied the link over, don't get so many via mail anyway, so never bothered to look for a solution).... In my case, .gnome/Gnome didn't exist. It did after playing with gconf-editor a bit though. BTW I couldn't find where to change things with gconf-editor, so after I saw the .gnome/Gnome file suddenly existed, I edited that one and voila, all is well. ;)
bvc
For browser gconf-editor>desktop>gnome>applications>browser exec <name> For email gconf-editor>desktop>gnome>url-handlers>mailto command <name> (I have balsa) type <has a check mark in a box> command-id <blablablabla....I think this is asigned by gnome session or something> description <Email handler> This also may have been created in/from menu>Configuration>GNOME>Advanced>File types and programs>Internet Services>Add a File Type button> Description=Email handler Extensions=mailto works for me for balsa and sylpheed.
