payasam
I could configure KAlarm as I wanted in 10.1 but am unable to do that in 2006. The window goes off the screen, so buttons like "OK" and "Cancel" are not visible. I was and am on 800 x 600 and have tried other resolutions too.Is there a way to do the job in Konsole? Snooping about didn't bring up a configuration file.
devries
Kde config files are in ~/.kde/share/config or ~/.kde/share/apps/kalarm. What errors do you get when you start kalarm from a konsole?
payasam
Devries, I haven't ever started KAlarm from Konsole. All I want to do is configure -- oops, Konfigure -- the thing. I'll go look for the files in the places you name. Thanks.
devries
Just open a console and type: kalarm. :D
payasam
The question is, Devries, if I start KAlarm from Konsole, will I be able to get to where I want to go, Preferences -> Konfigure KAlarm? I doubt it: as I said, the configuration window just doesn't fit on the screen. I cannot scroll up or down in it, I cannot re-size it, so I cannot click on "OK". devries
No but it will show what happens when you start kalarm (if something is wrong). With these errors we can try and find a solution. Here is a copy of my kalarmrc. Try this: [EditDialog]Height 768=543 Width 1024=614 [MainWindow] Height 768=223 Width 1024=426 [Notification Messages] ConfirmAlarmDeletion=true EmailQueuedNotify=false QuitWarn=yes
payasam
Nothing seems to be wrong, Devries: all the alarms I set, work when they should. Just that I don't want a listing of all alarms displayed on booting, I want to set colour once and not bother each time, and so on. I'll see what happens if I change settings in kalarmrc (for H600 and W800, of course). Incidentally, kalarmrc was not to be found and I had to download it separately. This seems to be routine or at least common, since there was a special link to the text file.
