thebrookster
Hi, I have just updated all of Mandriva using the update facility. Unfortunately the update to xorg has stopped the X server working. During bootup I have the message : Starting X Font Server: xfs: error whilst loading shared libraries: libxfont.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [FAILED] I have tried logging in as root in command prompt and re-installing xorg-x11-75dpi-fonts, which didn't work. Can anyone suggest a solution. Aside from that, I have also installed firefox and thunderbird. Initially Firefox did not work, then started working once I had installed the update. How ever Thunderbird never even appeared in my menu. Is there any way to get it to appear there? thanks for any help, thebrookster
devries
You need to reinstall xorg. Login as root and type: urpme libxorg && urpmi libxorg
