thebrookster
Hi, I have just loaded Mandriva 2006 onto my computer, and am trying to work out how to a) Update it with all the Security patches etc, and B) Install more software such as Thunderbird and Eclipse. I have been trying to use Mandriva Control Centre Software Management options, and am connecting to the RPM's fine. How ever the installation appears to hang when verifying Package Signatures. I cannot seem to get past this, and would be extremely grateful for any assistance. Unfortunately I have never used Mandriva based systems bEfore, only Debian, which was quite a while ago now. Thanks for any help, thebrookster
ianw1974
The easiest way is to click the link at the top of this page marked "easyurpmi". Then open a konsole prompt, ready to type the information into. On the easyurpmi page, choose your ftp mirrors for main, contrib, jpackage, plf-free, plf-nonfree and updates. Then choose Compressed Index after this to make it quicker to download. Then copy and paste each line into the konsole window to add the sources. When done, you can update in two ways: 1. System/Configuration/Packaging/MandrivaUpdates 2. At konsole prompt type: urpmi --update --auto-select and choose "Yes" when it wants to install. And that's it, oh, and welcome to the board
