Dutch
Hi I'm running a 2006 Powerpack system on the 2.6.12-12mdksmp kernel. I would like to get rid of the basic nvidia drivers and install the latest from nvidia, but the installed kernel source is kernel-source-2.6-2.6.12-14mdk, with no rpm available showing the correct 2.6.12-12. What I cant understand is that my system doesn't appear to have any problems. Would I cause myself grief if I uninstalled the 2.6.12-14 kernel source and install a downloaded 2.6.12-12 kernel source?
cymbaloum
You will need matching kernel and kernel-source rpm packages. Make sure to update your urpmi lists and download the latest and matching kernel packages. I run into the same problem, which I described here, it might be usefull to you. Dutch
Thanks, I'll give it a try. I just thought it was a bit wierd that the .14 source was installed and no sign of a .12 source anywhere........?
daniewicz
You must of selected the newer kernel source during an update using urpmi
