how to write gtk+-2.0-pc from scratch? (Solved)

Hi there,

In trying to compile the gEDA suite on Mandriva 2006.

I'm discovering that, although all gtk stuff is installed for sure (from mandriva rpm's), the 'gtk+-2.0.pc' text file, normally generated by './configure' and used by pkg-config to find gtk, is completely missing. It is not just in the wrong path, it's in no path at all! As a consequence, gEDA won't compile although all its dependencies should be there.

The only feasible solution (apart from uninstalling gtk and recompiling from source, which I'd try to avoid :juggle: ) seems to be writing 'gtk+-2.0.pc' from scratch; but 'man pkg-config' is unclear about how to set especially the 'Libs', 'Libs.private' and 'CFlags' line, and I can't figure out exactly what to write in there.

Has anyone already faced the same problem?

Sorry, fixed.

Thinking that "all" gtk stuff was installed was just my illusion  . After downloading and installing some 15+ more packages, things turned out OK.

Excuse me. Sometimes dependency management is a bit problematic...
