Guest watchmaker
Hi there, In trying to compile the gEDA suite on Mandriva 2006. I'm discovering that, although all gtk stuff is installed for sure (from mandriva rpm's), the 'gtk+-2.0.pc' text file, normally generated by './configure' and used by pkg-config to find gtk, is completely missing. It is not just in the wrong path, it's in no path at all! As a consequence, gEDA won't compile although all its dependencies should be there. The only feasible solution (apart from uninstalling gtk and recompiling from source, which I'd try to avoid ) seems to be writing 'gtk+-2.0.pc' from scratch; but 'man pkg-config' is unclear about how to set especially the 'Libs', 'Libs.private' and 'CFlags' line, and I can't figure out exactly what to write in there. Has anyone already faced the same problem? [moved from Software by spinynorman] Sorry, fixed. Thinking that "all" gtk stuff was installed was just my illusion  . After downloading and installing some 15+ more packages, things turned out OK. Excuse me. Sometimes dependency management is a bit problematic...
