tyme Posted February 11, 2003 Report Share Posted February 11, 2003 i installed synaptic from the texstar rpms, but everytime i start it i get an error box with the following message: could not open RPM package list file /var/state/apt/lists/ftp.ibiblio.org_pub_Linux_distributions_contrib_texstar_apt_Mandrake_base_pkglis t.updates: (no error) Problem opening /var/state/apt/lists/ftp.ibiblio.org_pub_Linux_distributions_contrib_texstar_apt_Mandrake_base_pkglis t.updates The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. when i click OK (the only option) synaptic exits immediately. the following is the output in my terminal which i run it from: (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: could not find glade file 'synaptic.glade' (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): libglade-WARNING **: Unknown CList child property: visible (synaptic:16829): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_menu_attach_to_widget(): menu already attached to GtkOptionMenu Any ideas where the problem may lie and how to fix it? thanks for any input.
