URPMI blues

Hi, im having some problems with URPMI...i wanted to install K3B and if i type "urpmi k3b" it displays 2 packages, then when i try to "urpmi k3b-0.74mdk......" it says it cannot find the file.

1. How can I see the sources list (MD9 original DVD which has "all" 3CDs, plus internet sources)?

2. How can I add an internet source, and actually CHOOSE it as source over the CDs?

3. Which are good internet sources? I tried to use the PLF (Penguin Liberation Front) source for installing DVD::Rip (and all 10000 dependent packages it needs....cdrecord,mkisofs,etc), but it says it cannot find the packages.

Regarding the PLF repository, i checked it out using FTP, and the packages ARE in the right directory on the server...somehow my URPMI doesn't see it, or use it properly...

Help please :)

if you have downloaded the rpm already

then

cd /path/to/where/the/rpm/is

urpmi ./k3b.x.x.x.rpm

will install it

1. you can see the sources by urpmi.update (with no arguments)

2. adding others sources is easy, and this link will make it even easier

http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/urpmiweb.php

3. PLF, texstar, and MandrakeClub (if you're a member) is all you should ever need (mostly)

if you're getting errors post them here, maybe we can help more then

Thanks Paul...

I did not download any RPMs yet, that's why i'm trying to install them from the Internet...I tried to compile K3B 0.8 yesterday and "make" breaks down cos there are a lot of libraries missing (liblasound, for example)...so i don't know which packages to install in order to satisfy dependencies.

I was going to install K3B 0.74 using URPMI, then upgrade to 0.8 once 0.74 is installed (with all deps).

Will post the errors later on today, when i get back home...
