Guest timb5163
I am installing java and following some instructions. When i get to this line this is the response I get. [root@Home root]# alternatives --install /usr/bin/java java /usr/java/jre1.5.0_05/bin/java 3 -bash: alternatives: command not found [root@Home root]# Shouldn't I have the capability to run Alternatives. Thanks. Timb
scarecrow
It's the first time I hear about this command. If you mean a command like update-alternatives --install something ...then it's Debian specific (Maybe Ubuntu also uses something like that). I guess that you either have wrong instructions, or you follow them wrongly. Regards. Edited November 19, 2005 by scarecrow
