Kmail / Mandriva 2006 welcome message [solved]

It appears to be a bug. I get exactly the same effect. Once you move the message out of the IN folder, the message is regenerated the next time you launch kmail.

It has existed from the very first betas of Mandriva2006 and still has not been fixed and has carried on from kde3.4 through into kde3.5.

I just leave it and ignore it.

Cheers. John

I've just discovered where theese mails are : in /usr/share/mdk/mail !!!!

The files are in html and text, generated by "indexhtml" package. I tried to rename the french files (as I am in France), and at next start Kmail generated english welcome mail as default. I then also renamed english files, and that's the solution ! No more welcome mails !!!!!

Thank you jeanmm.

I have deleted the html and the text versions in that place and so I have been able to remove the welcome messages from the inbox at last without them returning.

You have also pointed me to a new area that I am now in the process of exploring.

Thanks again and cheers. John.
