Guest darby
Thank you for your prompt response. All goes well until I am told to create a symbolic link using /libjavaplugin_oji.so . I am then told there is no such file or directory. I have followed the directions on the Java site and confirmed the download using ls but can get no further. Thank you. jboy
Referring to /libjavaplugin_oji.so would mean that this file is in the root, or /, directory, which of course is not the case. It's probably in something like (but check on your system): /usr/java/jre1.5.0_04/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so So, from the present working directory where you are trying to create a symbolic link to it, your command would be: ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_04/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so .
