blackhat101
MCNLive is a Mandriva-based live CD developed by MandrivaClub.nl in The Netherlands. This new English-only pre-release, code name "Jordaan", is a freshly build distribution from the current Cooker (Mandriva's development branch). It features the XFce desktop, the new ad-free Opera 8.50, Mandriva Control Center, and a set of multimedia applications - all that and more on a 200MB live CD. The product also includes a graphical application for installing the operating system to a USB storage device. http://home.tiscali.nl/berenstraat/bilder/livecd.html Screenshot: Looks like something nice for a laptop Edited September 25, 2005 by blackhat101
chris:b
Tomorrow there will be a new version on the servers, some bugfixes: * fixes for .mov files, and easier way to play streams in Opera * for emelfm fixed the file extension (makes clicking easier ;-) * added unzip * no more delay when starting without dhcp * some more minor cosmetical changes The announcement on distrowatch has one point that I'd like to correct. MCNLive Jordaan is not meant for any USB storage device, but for USB Flash Memory, thus USB Key/Stick/Drive up to 1 GB. And in Live mode. (though basically it is possible to get it running on a normal HD, with a bit of tinkering) --chris Edited September 26, 2005 by anna
