Guest starbane
on a wild hair, after badly munging my Kde 3.0 install, I decided to try the cooker packages for KDE 3.1 After adding the primary mirror urpmi, and waiting through perhaps 20 minutes of downloading the rpms, I was presently surprised. Everything seemed to go smoothly, Konq, Kmail and friends came up. nvidia drivers were untouched, and cooker decided to upgrade darn near everything on my system (dm now reads "9.1" though this box was just reinstalled with 9.0, for example. X server upgraded, and so on). KDE 3.1 looks SHARP, runs well, and so far no complaints. This is the first random install from cooker (unplanned and ill-advised) that went this well. Guest anon
You can find a list of cooker mirror sites here: http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/cookerdevel.php3 Please remember, cooker is for testing, and reporting back bugs/faults etc. If your not sure what your doing, you could end up with a OS that won't work at all.
