Hi

I'm newbe and have a problem:

Mandrake 10.1

laptop made by Gericom for Mediamarkt named Network

SE GC75e GPRS modem

the problem is that system says it's 'serial or modem' and do nothing with it.

I'd like it would be modem connected in /dev/modem or ttyS*

what to do?

:help:

Thanks for reply

Bien

Hi Bien, welcome to the board!

Are you connecting to the phone using bluetooth or a data cable?

If your computer is seeing the modem, you should be able to dial, so try to use kppp or wvdial to send it *99# (or whatever your network uses for GPRS).

You might find that it is already listed as a tty dev, you just need to find out which one.

There are also tons of how-tos on the net for this kind of thing, so try using Google as well. ;)
