Guest gegalla
I've been trying to install mandrake 9.0. I got to the point where I made a partition for 9.0 but the partition is too small (370mb) for the programs that I want to install. I have a 10gb hd with 4.5gb unused space an thought that diskdrake would free up 3or 4 gb for the partition but it only freed up 800mb.for the partition.. I've done some reading in the 9.0 starter manual on diskdrake and realized I needed to free up more free space on my hd. Now when I go into the installation and get to the part where I must install and use the custom feature diskdrake shows that I can free up about 4gb. What I have currently is a 9.0gb winxp partition, a 370mb partion and a swap partition. What I want to do is decrease the size of the winxp partition to 7gb and increase the 370mb partition to 2.4gb. My hiunch is I can do this during the installation process using the custom feature which brings me to diskdrake. Am I right and what would be the steps to do this? Guest joehill
The Mandrake installer will give you the option to resize the XP partition, as far as I know. It's been awhile since I did the install myself, but it should be pretty straightforward. There are several threads on this board about dual booting Mandrake 9 and XP, most notably this one.
