Guest CooledCoffee
I'm re-compiling linux kernel on my laptop. And I don't know which processor family should I choose. I'm using a celeron M processor. Can someone tell me?

Guest CooledCoffee
Just use: CONFIG_X86_PC=y <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but it's better to choose a processor family. the main purpose of re-compiling kernel is to enhance performance.
fissy
It depends. I've got a celeron 1.3GHz Mobile which i think is a derivative of pentium3 mobile whereas my dad has a 1.8GHz Mobile which is a derivative of pentium 4 mobile. Newer celerons at around the 1.5GHz mark may even be derivatives of the centrino processor.
