dtwconsulting
Hi there, I recently installed Mandriva LE 2005 and set the security level to Higher, and that's the way that I would like to keep it. Anyway, I noticed that I cannot ping localhost. All packets are dropped :( Now, I don't want my machine to be pingable from outside my LAN but I do want it to be pingable from within the LAN and certainly from the box itself. So, how can I remedy this? I'm not a Linux guru so I have no idea how to go about this. My router has a firewall and I only let certain ports through, such as 80, etc. I do _not_ have iptables nor shorewall running so I'm confused as to why I can't ping myself. TIA. Dave.
