Hostname/DM

Greetings

I'm currently having some problems with Mandrake 10.1. I tried everything, but I can't change my hostname. The system is always setting its hostname by DHCP.

I tried setting HOSTNAME= into:

/etc/sysconfig/network

/etc/sysconfig/network-scritps/ifcfg-etho

/etc/sysconfig/network-scritps/ifcfg-lo

I've also created the /etc/HOSTNAME file, added the hostname to /etc/hosts, even tried setting a script into ifup.d/, but nothing worked. The only thing that worked was adding a line to /etc/rc.local, but I really want to avoid that kind of solution.

Other problem is with display manager. Im using KDE, but I want to change from KDM to XDM. Ive managed to do it through graphical wizard, but I'd like to know which file in Mandrake controls that.

Actually I looked 4 it, but couldn't find anything like a "Network Config", maybe I passed over it really fast and didn't noticed.

Well, I'll check again, see if I can find it.
