su_root
Hello to all. This is my first post and I hope someone can help me out. I'm recently been converted to Linux, and my distro of choice is Mandriva LE 2005. I want to run a small webserver off my Cable line and have read that apache is the way to go. I've also heard that configuring it for Linux can be tedious and difficult. Please prove those people wrong. Help me out. What do I need to do to successfully run Apache, and eventually PHP and MySQL? Thanks, Jameson
ddmcse
install the packages : start the services if you installed LE you had a menu with packaes to pick for installing the servers you mention i would add installing "webmin" to magane and configure these servers start off by updating your source for all packages by clicking up above the link for "Easy Urpmi " http://www.mandrivausers.org/easyurpmi then pick n choose the packages you want to install
su_root
Ok, so I installed Apache, PHP, and MySQL from the installation menu at the beginning of Madriva LE 2005. I know that these things are on my computer, but how do I run them? How do I set them up to work? I'm so used to the Microsoft point and click method. Please help me configure these things. Thanks
