Guest c_m_f Posted January 23, 2003 Report Share Posted January 23, 2003 ive just downloaded the latest qt version (3.1.1) and compiled once and i thing i compiled the wrong thing my procedure was ./configure gmake (prog told me to) teh reason i believe it didn't work was becaus, it just doesnt work! so if any body could tell me the instructions or link me to a page that would be great! Guest c_m_f Posted January 23, 2003 Report Share Posted January 23, 2003 Help again please, i compiled it all according to instructions, prior to that i uninstalled qt3.0.(whatever comes with mdk9) now no qt programs will initalize it wont gte top login screen on reeboot (had to reinstall qt3.0.whatever from install cd's!) so anybody know of any extra bits needed for mdk9? or and mdk9 rpms? Guest ndeb Posted January 24, 2003 Report Share Posted January 24, 2003 qt-3.0.x and 3.1.x are not totally binary compatible. This means u will also have to recompile all kde apps. In fact, if u want to use the qt-3.1.0/kde3.1.0rc5, u can try the rpms from ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/mandr...de-3.1-rc5/RPMS . Or u can get kde-3.1.0rc6/qt-3.1.0 from texstar ( ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distribut...andrake/9.0/KDE ). Both have worked fine for me.
