Did you use urpmi to install, or did you download the codecs from the mplayer website?

I had issues with the mplayer codecs, and used the ones through the Install Software option under System/Configuration/Packaging in KDE.

If you've not already, you'll need to set up your urpmi sources, if you find they're not listed.

Visit:

http://www.mandrivausers.org/easyurpmi

This will enable you to set up for main, contrib, updates, jpackage, plf-free, plf-nonfree

And then look for xine-win32 in Install Packages.

I tried using the rpm, typed the root password in, then clicked "instal it" then it says:

Some package requested cannot be installed:

xine-win32-1.0.1-1plf.i586 (due to unsatisfied win32-codecs)

do you agree ?

Then all i can do is press OK.

I tried updating Kaffeine to 0.6 but it also comes up with the error:

Some package requested cannot be installed:

kaffeine-0.6-2oli_mdk10.1.i586 (due to missing libxorg-x11-devel-6.7.0-4.2.101mdk.i586)

libxorg-x11-devel-6.7.0-4.2.101mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied devel(libexpat))

do you agree ?

Then i tried doing the Mplayerhu codecs, then it says "Unable to access /usr/lib/win32/"

EDIT: i was too slow, just trying what you said now.

It sounds like your urpmi sources aren't correctly configured, which is why it can't complete the installation of the dependencies.

If you got into the System/Configuration/Packaging/Software Media Manager

what is listed? Do you have all the urpmi sources in addition to your CD/DVD media?

Providing the urpmi sources are configured, you should be able to install all dependencies.

Cool, you only need to go to easyurpmi and select plf-free and nonfree. You don't need to do the whole lot again, just what you're missing.

Will be a lot quicker.
