aRTee
I'm having a weird issue with Konqueror; if I surf to certain pages, for instance: http://315.fiberworld.nl/d500/ everything hangs, except the mouse still moves. I can't ctrl-alt-backspace anymore, or ctrl-alt-f1, so I have to go in remotely and kill X. If I use the nv driver instead of the nvidia driver, this doesn't happen (I just need thenvidia driver since the nv driver doesn't give a nice 50Hz 1280x1024 signal to my projector), and with Firefox things are fine too. But I just really like Konqueror, and besides, this is Linux where things should work andif they don't they should be fixed, right? My question: can others who use nvidia (the proprietary driver - I'm using 7661 and also had this with 7174, and if I recall correctly I also saw this with 7167) give this website a try with Konqueror? Edit: I just logged on onto a different user account with gnome, and the same thing happens, with konqueror at that exact page.... :( Edited June 2, 2005 by aRTee
metal1633
I had serious trouble with the nVidia driver and LE2005. I solved the Problem by preloading the nVidia module by adding the line "nvidia NVreg_SoftEDIDs=0 NVreg_Mobile=0" to my /etc/modprobe.preload file. daniewicz
I am using LE2005 and the 7174 driver. I have no problems viewing the website you linked to.
aRTee
Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to give these module options a try. Thanks daniewicz for the info that it works fine for you.
aRTee
Well, those options didn't do anything for me, still the same problem...
pmpatrick
I had lockup problems like you describe with kde apps in LE2005 with the nvidia driver. After I ran one of the updates that included a lot of kde stuff(maybe a week or two ago) the lockups disappeared.
