Hi there

I have a laptop from asus, with built in sound card. Mandrake is unable to find the correct driver for it.

in the hardware manager it is showing the correct sound card but i am unable to hear the sound.

if i try with kmix there is always cross mark on the sound icon. And also alsa mixer is not able to run and give some strange error message.

error from the alsa

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device

and also when i start my kde i have error like

unable to start sound server

/dev/dsp is not found (this is not the exact error message but something similar )

Also i have another problem i.e. apci power management module is not working. so please help me out from this things

thanks in advance

vinay
