Guest gerstad
I have just done a clean install of Mandrake 10 Official and I can't seem to get java applets to play on the web. I have installed Sun Java j2re 1.5 and it works fine on other java dependent applications such as lime wire, but for some reason web applets won't run. I have entered the path to the executable, and the java attempts to load but then I get this message saying that the application can not run due to an error. The error details say that there are too many arguments provided. Does anyone have any ideas?? This is driving me nuts!! Guest farconious
Mandrake 10.2 has same problem. I've tried the following with no success: Edited PATH in '.bash_profile' - when I type 'which java' it displays the current working version. $ which java /usr/java/jre1.5.0_03/bin/java Added PATH in '.bashrc' Added sym link to plugins: ln -s /usr/java/j2re1.5.0_03/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so Upgraded java to 1.5.3 Upgraded from Firefox 1.2 to 1.4 Re-added sym link. Konqueror loads java fine. Any help appreciated! FYI - Can't get LimeWire to run either: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: error:
scarecrow
1.5.0_02 had issues with Mozilla and Firefox, and certain applets wouldn't run cleanly on Konqueror either, but update 3 works fine for me.
