I have XP on hda1, then put in a 13.5GB slave drive, booted from LE 2005 DVD, installed it to the slave hdb, it did all the partitioning for me and put in lilo. I turn on the system and lilo comes up asking me if I want to boot to linux or windows. It was just so easy my folkes could do it. I just post this to say how thrilled I am that Linux has an easier side to use in the Mandriva distro. It and these forums have made the transision onto Linux very pleasurable.
