Guest vdonatiello
i want to install mandrake 10.1 on a notebook toshiba portege 3010 ct 1. i changed the bios boot up priority: FDD - HDD (there is not cdrom option) pc card controller mode: PCIC compatible 2. i made a boot floppy disk using the utility rawwrite as in the doc 3. boot up with the floppy and cdrom inserted .. it boots from the floppy, gave me the first screen with the 2 options <entert> or <F1> .. then it reads the floppy and then it gets stuck no cdrom found the cdrom, which is external on a pcmcia card, doesn't turn on at all, not even the on/off led is on .. could someone help me? do i need manually to configure the pcmcia card in order to use the cdrom and proceed with the installation? do i need to do text installation? thanks for taking the time to help me out best, vito
adolfix
tible It seems that your BIOS is not taking into account your PCMCIA CDROM device. Look in the documentation of this laptop BIOS to find the solution. Mandrakelinux can not use a device not managed by the BIOS. Bye
