Guest cheese
Good morning All, I wonder if someone can answer what is probably a really simple question for me. I have RTFM several times, but must be missing the point. We have got a bunch of users which all back up fine, but I have also added a communal directory called /company/, which they can add directories to. So, how do I get DrakBackup to backup /company/ and all the subdirectories? Thanks in advance, Neil.
aioshin
it seems that when you will use the drakbackup util , it will only let you backup the folders of a certain user or under a certain user that you specify to backup using the following compression, tar, tar.gz,tar,bz2... so if I am the one incharge to backup, maybe i'll try #tar czvf company-backup.tar.gz /maindir/company ( my scenario is backing it to other HD) it will create a file backup.tar.gz containing the company's files and subfolders also,I forgot how to do it, but I think tar util is capable of incremental compression, and epreserving ownership... maybe if you really want that features, try to read tar manual instead or #man tar

adolfix
With MCC you can select also particular folders. Go to System -> Backup -> Manual configuration -> What -> Other. Then choose your folder. Bye
