phunni
I want to get my ipod mini to work with linux - I tried ages ago and couldn't get it working so I used windows and itunes, but now I want to try again... I tried both HFS+ and fat and found I got much further with fat that HFS+ - but still not far enough. I have 2 major issues: 1) I can't import the database - I think that I can't get the permissions to do it or something. I'm willing to try and create a new database - although I'd prefer to use the existing one if I can... 2) I always get the do not disconnect on the ipod - regardless of what modules are loaded and whether it is mounted or not - any ideas on this one? It's a 4Gb ipod mini - 1st generation I think, although I'm not certain...
SoulSe
With the iPod Mini I tested, I used gtkpod, File -> Create iPod Directories to 'initilaise' it and I hadn't used it with another machine before, so the db was provided by gtkpod in my first sync with it. I also couldn't get rid of the "Do Not Disconnect" screen, but I just ignored - the device was unmounted after all, so what damage could it do?
