Guest ghosted Posted March 20, 2005 Report Share Posted March 20, 2005 (edited) Ok, I've installed mandrake 10.1 on a completey separate hdd. There is another hdd on the comp, it has win98 on it. I installed mandrake as guided etc, used CDs 1,2,3 and completed installation. Now I've installed it, and when the last step says reboot, it goes to boot, and says: "Searching for boot record on IDE-1... Ok"as it should do, just before booting. But then it stops there, and does nothing else. I don't know what to do, i've tried reinstalling all of mandrake. I might be doing something really obvious wrong. I've never tried to install a linux OS on one of my home PC's before. Sorry! Any help appreciated, thanks.
