Canam97
Have installed 10.1 official and am working towards installing cedega to play games we like. However I need to get the ATI drivers installed so my 3d is working. When to ati site to get the driver but have no idea what xfree86 im using. Trying the check.sh command give me this error: [root@localhost canam97]# sh check.sh ===================================================================== ATI Technologies ===================================================================== Your possibly not running this script from the console or maybe you simply dont have the console ownership. Unable to determine XFree86 Version. Stopping now. What am I doing wrong? I can find no reference to any of this on the ati site and dont want to install teh wrong drivers. I also need a location for some simple instructions for the installation. Been told I have to update kernel and such but find nothing to assist me. Is this worth all the trouble or should I go out and get another graphics card. Is nVidia any better with mandrake? Thanks ahead of time. Guest anon
MDK 10.1 uses xorg so thats the file you want. Nvidia cards are better suported in MDK but ati drivers can be made to work OK, Am using one myself. Have a look in the Tips & Tricks forum for help on installing ati drivers.
