Guest digital-dragonfly
The question I am posing is: Has any one used a "Merlin for Ricochet" wireless PCMCIA modem. I have goggled it and found several old articles on Ricochet wireless. It appears that Ricochet uses two different PCMCIA modems. One is called Merlin and the other is called GS. I just installed Mandrake 10.1 on my IBM thinkpad 390e, I was suprized how well it went. The only odd occurence was my microphone was installed "locked" on. It appears that Mandrake sees the PCMCIA card and the tags it as a serial modem. I have not read through the write ups from others but the impression I got was that it will work mostly through config file adjustments. I was wondering if there was anyone currently around using one....? and if they had any tips? Thanks for you time.... D Young
