Guest BillParis
I am a novice to Linux and am trying to install the mandrake 10.1 O/S on my spare PC. I have already created 3x CDROMs with the ISO data images for disks 1-3 In order to boot up, I need to create a boot floppy disk, I have tried to access the data on disk 1 via my main windows PC, but while it recognises the file type as an ISO image, I have no way of opening the file up with the software on my windows xp pc to create the boot disk as the doc for ver 10.0 tells one to do. I therefore have three questions, and if anyone has an idea, I'd be greatly obliged! 1 - Is an ISO image on the CD's the right type of file to boot up from 2 - Can I download a boot disk from anywhere 3 - any ideas on how i can get at the data on the ISO files on my main windows PC I appreciate that these are possibly very elementary questions, but any assistance would be gratefully received!
