sandig
I just installed mandrake 10.1 onto a VMWare virtual machine off the mini iso on the website. The installation went without a hitch, I rebooted and logged in and now i'm stuck. I see a blue background and an xclock window. When I click on the background I get a menu with various options. One of these is 'xterm' which I would expect to bring up the terminal but it doesn't. Anyway, I figured that this is the X window system not the normal KDE that I am used to. How can I open up a browser so I can download KDE or install it from a CD. Thanks. [moved from Installing Mandriva by spinynorman]
Guest shagnthings
I've had the exact same problem here. Did you ever figure out what went wrong? I'm thinking it's a video card driver problem...
Guest not_cool
If you use a Mandriva mini iso you need to select another installation source at the begining of the installation. (FTP or HTTP). Then you will also have the option of installing KDE or Gnome, etc.
