griptypethyne
I have upgraded from 9.2 to 10.1. I did a clean install of 10.1. In a terminal I can su root. When I go to the k menu and select logout the window that opens does not have any option for logging in as root or typing in a user name. I have been to the MCC and looked at evrything to do wih users/booting but cannot find anything that allows me to have the option of logging in as root. I know that everything can be done from a terminal but it is a matter of choice. Sometimes it is easier to use a terminal; other times the GUI. Do I need to edit a file? Thanks. Guest anon
Start menu>>>>>>>System>>>>Configuration>>>>>>>>Configure your desktop>>>>>>>System>>>>>>Login manager. Tick the "show users" box and put a cross in the root box.

raysr
Thanks for the quick response. I can now login as root in kde. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I followed those instructions but still have no users in the login screen.
Guest txlonghorn
"I followed those instructions but still have no users in the login screen." When you Logout/Login as different user, if you followed those instructions you should have root and all users that you have created listed as choices. If you don't see those choices when you boot, that is because one user is set as the default user.
