bamboo_spider
Hi I have been searching for an installation Manual, FAQ for mandrake 10.1 community edition, the closest I got was: http://www.mandrake.tips.4.free.fr/review101.html#index which seems to have a lot but not a step wise account of what to do and MORE IMPORTANT what to expect can any one point me in the right direction. regards bamboo spider Linux Since June2004 FC1, FC2, FC3 (Current) Have tried: Suse 9.1 pro, Ubuntu Warty Warthog
spinynorman
Welcome to the board. :) The latest documentation available online is for 10.0, and can be found here. A lot of it will still be valid for 10.1. To publish a more up-to-date manual at this stage, would discourage people from buying a retail package. aRTee
The page you found is my review for 10.1 - you will want this one: http://www.mandrake.tips.4.free.fr/install101.html but in effect, so little has changed since 10.0 that I agree the official Mdk docs are best, even if they are still the 10.0 versions. BTW don't feel guilty if you don't buy Linux - plenty of other ways to contribute. Glad you found this place, it's the best place to get started with Mandrakelinux and even many other flavours of Linux. Welcome to the board! Give it a good test run and make sure you are happy. That is one of the nice things about Linux. If you discover you hate it then all you have spent is some time.....and time well spent at that. I you have any questions or problems be sure to let us know. Phil
