Hello everyone,

Please I am very new to Linux. Got Mandrake 9.2 from a friend and installation went fine. However, the graphic card was not detected (i've got an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000).

I can boot on Linux but it enters in a text-mode interface! What must I do please to correct this? Thx a lot

[Toshiba A30, 2.8 Ghz, 512MB, Ati Mobility Radeon 9000, Win Xp]

Welcome to the board.

Boot into linux and then type

startx

If you get some error messages check the "Tips and Tricks " forum here for some info on setting up your card with ATI drivers.
