Guest pgmer6809
I have older PC (Pentium -III, slot 1 Mobo, non-AGP graphics card). RH 6.0 installs on it fine. It auto detects my Diamond S3-968 graphics card, and I end up with a GNOME desktop. When I install MDK 10.1 it detects the card ok, but when I try the TEST option during the install it fails. I try different settings for graphics memory it still fails. I bypass this and continue with the install. At the end the text mode works OK but 'startx' fails; It says there is some error regarding a module (not sure if loading or passing parms); I think the module is libglx.a Is this an XFREE vs XORG issue? Any suggestions? Thanks, PGMER6809
Bdickson2000
As a worst case scenario, you can run xf86config, choose the VESA driver when you get to choosing the graphics card, and get X to run that way. BD
