Hello,

I installed the new kernel patch: kernel-smp-2.6.8.1.24mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm on my Mandrake 10.1 and get this error:

Creating root device

Mounting root filesystem

mount: error 6 mounting ext3 flags defaults

well, retrying without the option flags

mount: error 6 mounting ext3

pivotroot: pivot_root (/sysroot, /sysroot/initrd) failed: 2

umount /initrd/sys failed: 2

umount /initrd/proc failed: 2

Initrd finished

Mounted devfs on /dev

Freeing unused kernel memory: 200k freed

Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init=option to kernel.

I see in the board:

"I have a box with a single Sata drive and had a simular problem to you, but there was no need to change the kernel.

The answer for me was to change the bios settings from auto detect /AHCI to Auto detect /ATA"

But my machine not have this option. Why I can boot with the older kernel "kernel-smp-2.6.8.1.12mdk" but no with the patched "kernel-smp-2.6.8.1.24mdk"? Bug of Mandrake?

Thanks.
