Guest adcprod2001
I can't seem to use VNC over SSH with Mandrake 10.1, when it worked just fine with 10.0. For more information, please look at this thread.... LinuxQuestions FYI: I do know how to tunnel and connect via vncserver. No X does not have to be running for this to work. (It doesn't matter anyway as I have tried both.) Any ideas? -Dave Moved from Software to Networking - Artificial Intelligence
papaschtroumpf
can you try to connect outside of SSH, to see if the problem is with SSH or VNC? I was never able to run the native KDE VNC server (krfbserver) on 10.0 for example.
nyrblue35
if you want to connect to your linux box from any windows box use putty. it works great, uses SSH, you dont have to install it, its free............not a bad thing about it and its easy to use.
