Urza9814
found this on google news: Some reports claim that Linux, the open-source operating system peddled by dozens of outfits, including Red Hat (Nasdaq: RHAT), Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq: SUNW), and IBM (NYSE: IBM), is already the world's most oft-breached OS, comprising 65% of security compromises compared to Windows' 25%. http://www.fool.com/News/mft/2004/mft04122320.htm what are your thoughts on that? tyme
where's his references? i mean, i know i've heard people say that before, but i'd like to see the actualy report. i have a feeling they either didn't take into account computer viruses, or didn't do the proper math to take into account the percentage market share, as i know Linux is more prevelant as a server OS. Crashdamage
In the same article, he also says: This is the big leagues, and no one wants to end up with a reputation like Microsoft's... 'Nuff said there. MS has worked long and hard to get that well-deserved reputation. But like tymark says, what's his references? Who and what are "some reports"? And who funded those reports? The guy is writing for www.fool.com. We would be fools to take him seriously.
