After Install: Keyboard not working, strange fonts

Hello,

I just installed Mandrake 10.1 Official Edition and updated also to KDE 3.3 from CD4. The problem is, however, that after the install the fonts are not available anymore (just pixel-like fonts) and even worse, the keyboard is not working. I am using an IBM Thinkpad 570 and the keyboard never made any problems. I already tried to create the XF86config new, but that did not help either...

What can I do?

Now I could fix the keyboard problem:

In this thread (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=266106)

It was said to add in the general section of /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc the following line:

ServerVTs=-7

Then I rebooted and now the keyboard is working again.

Unfortunately, all the fonts still look like messed up...
