Just coming back to linux after a bellyfull of winxp

last constant use was peanut8.

amd2000 plus

512 ram

abit kr7a-raid

80 seagate

my win modem i know is not supported (es56h-pi), otherwise i have md10 running

very well.

can someone tell me where to look for modem modules these days, i can't even find a modem reference in the kernel ./configure.

Thanks Yves

I guess i will have to buy another modem in the end (have "tried on" 6 so far)

but after manual install and configureing kppp etc i can't get passed the

(initializing modem) with them, looks like no module responce.

What i would like to do is find out what modules are in the kernel first.

Hotplug is new to me too, the answer is more than likely to be around there somewhere.
