griptypethyne
I am running Mandrake 9.2. I have downloaded Acrobat and successfully installed it. The problem is the font used by the GUI. It is *ugly*. It reminds me of some of the message windows in win 3.0. Pdf files I have opened all seem to use the correct fonts. The problem is with the Acrobat user interface. Is there any way I can improve the appearance of Acrobat?
iphitus
Nope, its a commercial closed source program. Try using a free open source alternative, gpdf, kpdf, ghostview iphitus
griptypethyne
Thanks for that. kghostview was already installed on my system but I had not noticed it because in the menu it was listed under "Publishing" and I wanted to read pdf files not create them (-; I know that Open Office can be used to create pdf files. I am impressed with kghostview. It has a clean and simple interface that is intuative. Contrast that with Acrobat which has a very messy and cluttered interface. Whenever I run Acrobat I first have to scan through each of the icons to remember the function of each. I will be using kghostview from now on.
